Summary

To me there's nothing better than sitting out on the porch of Southeastern Oklahoma looking out at the deep red dirt that goes on for miles。 A beautiful sunset, and then me, just sipping on a glass of iced tea (or whiskey) with loved ones, and seeing who can get who to crack up first。 I don't know what heaven's going to look like, but if I get any say in the matter, I'd tell the Big Boy Upstairs that's all I want。 Just me, people I love, and those acres of red dirt。 Throw in some beans and cornbread, and I'm all set。 All in all, I think the secret to a nice life isn't that complicated。 Most of us probably already know it in our bones, and that's what I want to get back to。 Simple fun, hard work, good food, and laughing with those you love。 That's what I'm sharing on these pages—some simple, not-that-fancy truths I live by, and a bunch of good stories, photos, and recipes that go along with them。 So if you're looking to slow down, get back to basics, and have a heckuva lot of fun, then my friend, I think we're going to have a good time together。 So come on in, kick off your boots (or leave them on, I don't care), and learn how to bring a little bit of my ranch-inspired life into your own。 FROM THE The best things in life are really not that fancy。 Full of stories, humor, and a couple bowls of chili, this delightful collection of all-things-Reba is just what you need to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride。 Here you'll Not That Fancy  is the perfect year-round gift for Reba fans or anyone who loves that big sky Western lifestyle。

Quick listen with life tidbits from Reba。 Biggest takeaways are how her faith is her foundation for everything and she’s just how you imagine her。

Angela Schaffer

I listened to the audiobook but also checked out the physical book to look at the pictures and recipes。 It was fun to hear all the interviews throughout the book from other artists and family。

Such a sweet simple read! And convicting too - makes me want to be better about finishing what I’ve started, bring more people together, and live a little bolder。 Listening to her read this book and tear up and laugh was so sweet - it was so Reba!!! I love this woman。 Also I love that she’s a practical woman and she gives real, simple examples and how to use them - recipes, games, ice breaker questions she’s so cute

It a random smattering of subjects, but I did enjoy Reba's authenticity。 The audiobook was nice because she emotes so well。 It a random smattering of subjects, but I did enjoy Reba's authenticity。 The audiobook was nice because she emotes so well。 。。。more

I wasn’t sure what I was going to be listening in this, but the sample made me decide to try it。 WOW, just WOW。 I’m so thankful that I decided to listen to this book。 Not only did Reba talk, but there was a lot of her friends and coworkers that also talked plus her family。 It was eye-opening in the very best way。 I really enjoyed her talking about her walk with the Lord also about her upbringing。 It was just so refreshing, and I highly suggest it to everyone。

5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️。 First off, I love Reba。 She seems like that perfect, fun, loving, “there for you” friend that everyone needs to have in their life。 This book was such a fun read。 I enjoyed all the photos and recipes。 I don’t cook much but if I were to pick a few that I’d love to try, I’d have to say the Carrot Cake and all the yummy cocktails。 But realistically, the first recipe I’d probably follow would be the one for tator tots。 (If you read the book, you know the humor behind that comment 🤣)。 I 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️。 First off, I love Reba。 She seems like that perfect, fun, loving, “there for you” friend that everyone needs to have in their life。 This book was such a fun read。 I enjoyed all the photos and recipes。 I don’t cook much but if I were to pick a few that I’d love to try, I’d have to say the Carrot Cake and all the yummy cocktails。 But realistically, the first recipe I’d probably follow would be the one for tator tots。 (If you read the book, you know the humor behind that comment 🤣)。 I think my favorite part of this book was all the advice that Reba gave。 She talked about: buying the perfect boots, NYC, how to pray, gift ideas, how to say goodbye to someone, ways to give back, guide to Nashville, and Christmas traditions (just to name a few)。 I love how devoted to God she is。 She is honest about her fears and pushing through them because she knows God is always there with her。There’s so much anxiety that comes along with parenting。 As Reba said, it’s hard being a mom and letting go of control over your kids。 My favorite part of this book was this advice:The best thing you can do is turn it over to God and say “ you gave him to me and now I’m giving him back to you”。 Doing that has sure saved me a lot of anxiety。 Because God loves him more than I do -and I love him an awful lot-so I know that he’s in good hands。 It’s that trust in God that helps us step out in faith and take chances on the riskier things in life。I loved this book and highly recommend it。 I borrowed it from the library but suggest picking up an actual copy at your favorite bookstore because there are so many wonderful recipes that you’ll want to look back at。 I know what I’m asking for for Christmas this year! 😉 Thank you Reba for being so down to Earth and sharing the “not that fancy” side of yourself with all of us。 。。。more

2。5 starsI struggled with my rating because I’m in the weird position of saying that my favorite part of this book was the testimonials by Reba’s friends。 Their stories of Reba painted such a great picture! When Reba was speaking, I found the stories to be kind of disjointed to the point at hand, if there was a point at hand。 I might have DNFed but I kept listening for the next time one of her friends would pop into the story! 😂

I adored this book。 It’s more than a cookbook in the best way。 We get some deep and personal insight into this brilliant and talented woman。 She shares some of her life journey in wonderful stories, some easy to follow delightful recipes that are accompanied by beautiful photography。 I really enjoyed reading this book。I received a copy of this book from Netgalley。com in exchange for a fair and honest review。

This book was amazing。 It was about her life but it really made you think about your own。 And reminds you to slow down and enjoy everything you can。 I got the book and the audio (ok and the cd。 🤣) but I suggest definatly get the audio。 It has so much more in it not just what's in the book。 This book was amazing。 It was about her life but it really made you think about your own。 And reminds you to slow down and enjoy everything you can。 I got the book and the audio (ok and the cd。 🤣) but I suggest definatly get the audio。 It has so much more in it not just what's in the book。 。。。more

Borrowed this on a whim because why not? I am not a hardcore fan or anything but I am familiar with her music, her influence on country music, did watch her show back when it was on TV and rewatched the series on whatever streaming service a few years ago, etc。 I haven't read her other books but beyond some of what I had seen in the media (her former daughter in law is Kelly Clarkson) I did not know what to expect。This book is a mix of memoir, self-help/inspiration, cookbook, commentary and more Borrowed this on a whim because why not? My favorite queen of country music! Jammed packed with stories, wisdom and recipes from her family, friends and restaurant。

This audiobook it was great she reads it and has several artists read their parts where they recount interactions with her and how Reba really is amazing and down to earth。 I really love how she unabashedly speaks about her love and relationship with God。 I also enjoyed the sit down storytelling time with her siblings。 One of her siblings talks about feeling like an orphan after your last parent dies and I felt seen。 I have tried to explain that feeling to others without success。

JJ

It’s not for me。 If you read this you need to like religious talk and country stuff。 It had interviews and felt choppy and a bit cheesy。

I have always loved watching Reba on tv and of course, listening to her music。 So naturally when I first heard that she was writing a book, I got super giddy over it。 I was able to get an advance copy and to say that she wrote that book well is an understatement。 I loved the photos of Reba from when she was growing up and the things she did with her family。 Plus this book also shares over 60 recipes of different appetizers and main courses from her very own kitchen。 This is a great book for all I have always loved watching Reba on tv and of course, listening to her music。 So naturally when I first heard that she was writing a book, I got super giddy over it。 I was able to get an advance copy and to say that she wrote that book well is an understatement。 I loved the photos of Reba from when she was growing up and the things she did with her family。 Plus this book also shares over 60 recipes of different appetizers and main courses from her very own kitchen。 This is a great book for all who love Reba and to give as a Christmas gift this year! 。。。more

Reba McEntire's "Not That Fancy" is a warm and inviting journey。 With personal photos, heartfelt stories, and delicious recipes, it's like a country ballad that resonates with authenticity。The photos capture a lifetime of memories, while the stories provide a lyrical narrative of Reba's adventures in rodeos, music, and love。 The recipes scattered throughout are a nice addition, and I love the theme of the book and how well it flows。 If you love Reba, you’re going to love this book。 If you don’t Reba McEntire's "Not That Fancy" is a warm and inviting journey。 With personal photos, heartfelt stories, and delicious recipes, it's like a country ballad that resonates with authenticity。The photos capture a lifetime of memories, while the stories provide a lyrical narrative of Reba's adventures in rodeos, music, and love。 The recipes scattered throughout are a nice addition, and I love the theme of the book and how well it flows。 If you love Reba, you’re going to love this book。 If you don’t really love her or know who she is, you’ll fall in love with her while reading this book! I absolutely loved this audiobook narrated by Reba and a cast of country music friends and her siblings。 This book is full of life lessons similar to McConaughey’s Greenlights。 I loved that so much was shared about her growing up and her parents teachings。 Bravo! Thank you NetGalley and Harper Celebrate Audio in exchange for an honest review。 Favorite quotes:Most of what you hope for in this life takes time and some good old fashion sticktutiveness。 …keep learnin’, dreamin’, and workin hard。 One I absolutely loved this audiobook narrated by Reba and a cast of country music friends and her siblings。 This book is full of life lessons similar to McConaughey’s Greenlights。 I loved that so much was shared about her growing up and her parents teachings。 Bravo! My husband wanted me to buy this book after I checked it out of the library。 He saw lots of recipes he wanted me to try。 I loved her heart felt story and the photos。 I'd rather someone else cook and bake and clean up。 It is a great gift book and a fun book to read。 Her list of go-to movies and shows was much needed。 She is aging better than I and I need a boost。 Or a lot more money Great book to inspire 。 My husband wanted me to buy this book after I checked it out of the library。 He saw lots of recipes he wanted me to try。 I loved her heart felt story and the photos。 I'd rather someone else cook and bake and clean up。 It is a great gift book and a fun book to read。 Her list of go-to movies and shows was much needed。 She is aging better than I and I need a boost。 Or a lot more money Great book to inspire 。 。。。more

4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐🎧 I enjoyed her story and some insight into her life。 I loved hearing from her friends and family。 It did come across as a little preachy, but I get it she has deep roots in her faith。 I'm happy she has found love and friendship in her life again。 Rex seems like he is doing right by her。 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐🎧 I enjoyed her story and some insight into her life。 I loved hearing from her friends and family。 It did come across as a little preachy, but I get it she has deep roots in her faith。 I'm happy she has found love and friendship in her life again。 Rex seems like he is doing right by her。 。。。more
